Repository systems are designed to allow academics to archive their own work. It is generally a simple process and should take no more than 10 minutes. Like other IT systems, when coming to it for the first time the process might take slightly longer; but the input form is straight forward.
Most institutions with a repository provide a point of contact for academics for someone to assist them in using it for the first time, or for discussing issues arising from Open Access or repository use. This page provides some contacts for international academics, some UK contacts are also available.
Some institutions without repositories also have contacts for Open Access related matters or for developing repsoitory programmes. If you would like to suggest a name to include here, then contact us. If no contact is listed, then in the first instance, contact your institutional library or visit the OpenDOAR directory of repositories. The library community has been heavily involved in the development of open access to research results and there is likely to be someone who can assist.
