We are building a team to work with University information and research support services to manage our research data and make it as useful as it can be.
The impact and re-use of research data to drive economic growth has been identified by both the UK Government and the European Commission as being of key importance. This is an opportunity to work at a leading international research-led university in high-profile roles that address key research and funding questions in this area.
The Project Manager will need to be able to work with authority in creating the new data management service, balance priorities and needs from University researchers and services alike, liaise with stakeholders across the institution at senior levels - and manage the project. This needs an experienced project manager who is keen to work at the interface of data management, service provision and information access. Candidates should have a degree in relevant area or equivalent formal training, plus substantial hands-on experience in similar or related role.
This full-time post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of one year.

The post-holder will need to be knowledgeable about web service development; tools and protocols for data-sharing between different internal data systems; user interface design and diverse data management standards and practices. Software Developer (Digital Repository), University of Liverpool

To work as part of a small team based in the University Library, working closely with the University’s Computing Services Department on the institutional digital repository, recommending and developing technical solutions, tools and functionality to integrate the repository with other internal systems and to enable research outputs to be shared externally. You will be an experienced Software Developer with knowledge of LAMP technologies such as XML, XSLT, Perl and Javascript. You will hold a degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and/or have proven industrial experience of software development. The post is full time, 35 hours per week.

Digital Repository Developer, Milton Keynes
Temporary two year contract £30,122 - £35,938Would you like to play a key role in the development and maintenance of the Open University’s research repository (Open Research Online)? You will be working with Library Services and Research School to provide technical input to support the University’s research activity in line with University’s requirements for the Research Excellence Framework 2014 submission.
You will have substantial directly relevant work experience in the development of a digital repository system and experience of programming with PERL language. You must have excellent skills in software design. You must also have experience of working with at least one of the main relational database software and demonstrable experience of excellent user interface design.
For this role you will need effective communication skills, be proactive and flexible and be able to prioritise your own workload.
