Bill HubbardHead of the Centre for Research Communications Email: Bill.Hubbard@nottingham.ac.uk, Phone: 0115 846 7657 Management across projects and services, development and policy Bill Hubbard is the Head of the Centre for Research Communications (CRC), incorportaing the work of SHERPA. Bill has a background in Higher Education and IT; in particular in work aiming to embed IT into university functions and working practices. Previous work has looked at the use of Expert Systems in supporting decision making, designing information systems for managing research funding and a number of years working with the introduction of multimedia into university teaching. His recent background includes three years as a commercial project manager in virtual reality applications for communications, installations and broadcast, specialising in virtual heritage environments. Before this he worked as a senior lecturer at De Montfort University, Leicester, leading a BA degree course in Multimedia Design. Bill speaks widely on open access and related issues - repository network development, institutional integration, cultural change, IPR and Open Access policy development. He is also involved in archaeological and heritage applications of new media and sits on the Channel 4 Award jury for new media archaeology. Peter MillingtonTechnical Development Officer Email: peter.millington@nottingham.ac.uk, Phone: 0115 846 8481 Web development, RSP, and SHERPA services Peter joined the SHERPA team at Nottingham in January 2006, having previously worked in scientific research in industry. He gained a BSc in Information Science from Leeds Polytechnic, and went on to run the technical library and information unit for the Central Electricity Generating Board, Midlands Region - now E.On. This also included managing the publication of internal reports. He later moved to Fisons Pharmaceuticals, Loughborough - now AstraZeneca R&D Charnwood - to develop bibliographic and chemical databases to help expedite the drug discovery process. On leaving AstraZeneca, Peter completed a PhD on traditional drama at the University of Sheffield, so he has experience of the needs of practitioners in both science & technology, and the arts & humanities. |

Stephen PinfieldSHERPA Co-Director Email: stephen.pinfield@nottingham.ac.uk Phone: 0115 84 68555 Director of the Centre for Research Communications and Co-director of SHERPA and associated projects Stephen Pinfield is Chief Information Officer at the University of Nottingham. He has a particular interest in scholarly communication and digital library management, and publishes and speaks widely on these topics. Among other positions, Stephen Pinfield is currently the Chair of the Joint CURL-SCONUL Scholarly Communication Group and a member of the JISC Integrated Information Environment Committee and Scholarly Communication Group. Stephen is also a member of the HEFCE REF advisory group on bibliometrics and of the European University Association Working Group on Open Access. Stephen Pinfield has extensive experience of involvement in managing and directing externally-funded projects and services. He is also Director of the Repositories Support Project, OpenDOAR and a member of the Steering Group of the European DRIVER project. He is currently Director of Intute: health and life sciences, a national service providing access to quality internet resources for the higher and further education communities Stephen Pinfield has a degree in History from the University of Cambridge
and a master's degree in Library and Information Studies from University
College London. His previous professional experience has been at the
London Business School, University of Leeds and University of Birmingham.

Christopher PresslerSHERPA Co-Director Email: christopher.pressler@nottingham.ac.uk Phone: 0115 9513052 Co-director of SHERPA and associated projects Christopher Pressler is Director of Research and Learning Resources at The University of Nottingham. He is also Director of Intute: Health and Life Sciences, and Co-Director of SHERPA, both based at The University of Nottingham. Among other positions, Christopher is a member of the JISC Repositories and Preservation Advisory Group, the SCONUL International Relations Advisory Group and the RLUK Research Communications Think Tank. He is Co-Director of DART-Europe, the European portal to eTheses, a member of the European DRIVER Steering Committee and a member of the SPARC Europe Board. Christopher is Chair of the Digital Resources for the Humanities and
Arts Conference and has a wide interest in the digital humanities. His
PhD research is in the field of contemporary musicology. Christopher's
previous professional experience has been at University College London,
JISC, Senate House Library and at Dartington College of Arts. He is
a member of The Royal Musical Association and is a Fellow of the Royal
Society of Arts. |

Jane SmithServices Development Officer Email: jane.h.smith@nottingham.ac.uk Phone: 0115 95 14341 RoMEO, JULIET and other services Jane H Smith is the Services Development Officer of SHERPA, based at the University of Nottingham. She has previously been employed as an Information Scientist with a leading biomedical charity, where she worked on a busy science enquiry service. In this role Jane represented her employers at meetings for the Consortium of Independent Health Information Libraries in London (CHILL). Jane is a Chartered member of CILIP. Prior to employment, Jane studied Immunology at University of Edinburgh, followed by Electronic Information Management at Robert Gordon University. Jane enjoys both film and digital photography, and crafting.

Dominic TateRepository Development Officer Email: dominic.tate@nottingham.ac.uk Phone: 0115 84 67544 RSP, outreach and community building Dominic Tate is the SHERPA Repository Development Officer, based at the University of Nottingham. He has previously been employed at BioMed Central the Business Development Manager for their Open Repository service. Dominic has a degree in German and Linguistics from Queen Mary, University of London. In his spare time, Dominic enjoys photography, travel and reading. |
